Your wedding day may be the most important “big day” of your life but it can never be as full of emotions as the day you decided to propose to your partner. That feeling of nervousness combined with excitement and tears is what makes it one of the most cherished moments for lifetime.
The moment deserves to be captured but without ruining the surprise factor of course. So how do you do it? Well, let me give you some pointers that will help you.
Of course you will be having an idea that you are ready to propose months before you actually propose to your partner. The plan to propose is already there but is that all you need to get flawless proposal pictures? Nope. you need a proper plan. From selecting a ring as perfect as your connection with your partner to deciding what exactly you would want to say in the moment, everything needs to be planned out. Talk to a friend or two and ask them what kind of ring you should buy. Talk to her family if you want to involve them in your proposal plan. Watch as many proposal videos as you can just to get an idea how you would want everything to be.
Hire a Professional Photographer
You can always ask a friend to click pictures for you but there is a chance that can blow up. Hiring a professional photographer is always recommended as they know better how to click perfect pictures and they can give you your paparazzi moment, so your cover is safe.
Hiring a professional photographer ensures that all your pictures are of good quality, and almost every precious emotion of the moment is perfectly captured.
If you think hiring a professional can ruin your surprise, let me politely tell you that you are wrong. Paparazzis are photographers, right? Or are you not considering them because they click celebrity pictures?
Also, if you are still concerned, let me give you a great idea. You can hire a photographer and tell your partner that since you both love taking pictures together you were thinking of getting a shoot done or maybe tell them how fascinated you were by some celebrity photoshoot and you really want to recreate it for social media. This will even help you in the last point that I plan to cover- make sure your partner is picture ready.
Select a Date and Place
If you can, select a date and place that holds some significance in your lives. It can be your anniversary or the day you guys first did something or a place where you met or have some memory as a couple. If not, you can always choose some destination that you or your partner always had in mind, just like some people love the eiffel tower and times square. I have also written a blog regarding locations to shoot, see if something from my blog hits you or inspires you with any location idea.
If nothing works, a hotel room is also perfect. A little suspicious, maybe but you can always keep it a suspense and on the plus side, organizing everything becomes really easy for everyone.
Make Sure Your Partner is Picture Ready
This one is important. Don’t leave even a single factor that can push your partner towards questioning you “am I beautiful?” from dress to hair, and if your partner is into nails then get them done as well, somehow. Make sure they are as picture ready as they can be. These pictures are going to stay with you for eternity and there is no way you can mess it up by not telling your partner to get ready.
Now, you don’t necessarily have to ask them to get ready, maybe tell them that there is some party or some event and they should be dressed accordingly or you plan to take them out to some fancy place and you would really like it if they can dress for you. If none of this works out, well, role plays can save you. Tell them that you would want to role play meeting at a bar or library or something, just to spice things up a little you know. Just anything that helps you get them ready without revealing the big secret.
